Pot O’ Honey
Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 Colorado kids (19%) may not always know when or where they will get their next meal? Did you know that nearly 1 in 6 Colorado households with children (16%) report food hardship, an inability to afford adequate food? And that among all Colorado children, those under the age of 6 are most likely to be in poverty and are the most at risk of living in homes without enough food? (USDA-2016) The statistics are staggering!
JCOS has a food pantry of nutritious, kid-friendly food for any families to take home called Pot O' Honey. Bags are put out by the office each week (right now on Tuesdays and some Thursdays) for any family or student to take home. If you need some extra help, please take a bag - no questions asked.
We are always looking for donations of non-perishable food, baby items, and toiletries. Please bring donations to the office. Thank you to everyone who donated money to the Pot O' Honey at the beginning of the year! If you have any questions about this program, please contact Kara at k[email protected].
